Brief Organizational Description

Established in 2000, Four Bands Community Fund is a Native community development financial institution (CDFI) certified by the US Treasury and the leading organization on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in the areas of small business development, business lending, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship education. Four Bands has designed its suite of products and services to help low-income individuals identify pathways out of poverty and acquire assets and wealth. Our approach to poverty reduction is to invest in, grow, and protect Native assets by fostering entrepreneurship and financial literacy on the reservation. Four Bands provides financial coaching when purchasing an asset, including a home, through our Individual Development Account (IDA) program. We also provide energy efficient loans to homeowners to improve cost of living.
